Tooth Alignment (Orthodontics)

Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth, to improve the appearance of the teeth and how they work. It can also help to look after the long-term health of your teeth, gums and jaw joints, by spreading the biting pressure over all your teeth.

Why should I have orthodontic treatment?

there can be infinite number of reason anyone can have for a orthodontic correction some of them according to clinical problem i am listing below

Space between the teeth can be corrected by orthodontic treatment

Numerous individuals have crowded or rotated or tilted teeth. Orthodontic treatment will rectify the teeth or move them into a superior position. This can enhance their appearance and the way the teeth bite together, while additionally making them simpler to clean.

A few individuals have upper front teeth that stand out and look unattractive.  Orthodontic treatment can move them once again into line.

Then again in some individual  the way the upper and lower jaws meet can make teeth look unattractive and lead to unhealthy bite . Orthodontic treatment may have the capacity to correct both of these issues.

At the point when the teeth don't meet effectively, this can put strain on the jaw's muscles, which lead to sever pain in these muscles. Orthodontic treatment can help you to bite more efficiently , more accurately and more healthy ,which all together reduces strains from muscles

Best age of orthodontic treatment

Age is less important than having the right number of teeth. In children it may be necessary to wait for enough teeth to come through before starting treatment that could be about 14 year , but some time early treatment is required to prevent any other developing problem , on the other hand higher age is not an issue now a days with advance understanding of age related changes and how to adjust with it

How many types of orthodontic treatment are there

there are many different classification of treatment in orthodontics on a broader  way it can be of two types

  1. Removable
  2. Fixed

removal orthodontic appliance

         Removal Orthodontic Appliance

Simple procedure is carried out by this or in case of few minor correction can be done with thea help of this , it is composed of a plate with soft wire and may be with a spring which provide gentle pressure for correction, it can be taken out to clean

                  Fixed appliance

Very commonly , teeth need more guidance that cant be achieved with Removable appliance so fixed appliance can be given , its fixed only for few moths until the treatment is completed, then it will be removed

How much time does it takes

Depend on severity of problem you have ,it can take time from 6 month to an year, before starting ortho treatment  we first treat any other oral problem like caries , gum diseases  and other small problem which can take little extra times as well
